Candied Bacon

Sweet, salty, smoky, rich with umami and a deliciously crispy-chewy texture, it's everything Candied Bacon should be.  It's INSANELY delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound thick cut bacon
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Use either mesh baking rack or line a baking pan with foil and spray with nonstick spray.
  • Lay the strips of bacon in a single layer on the rack or baking pan.  Divide and drizzle the maple syrup over each slice followed by a sprinkling of brown sugar and a few grinds of black pepper.  
    Bake for about 25 minutes or until the bacon is crispy.  
    Let the candied bacon cool for a few minutes until they've firmed up.
