  • Place all of the ingredients in a small saucepan except for the food coloring (if using). Bring it a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it cool completely.
    Store in the refrigerator where the sauce will keep for at least 2 weeks.
    Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
