Carne Asada Seasoning

This homemade carne asada seasoning can be used as a dry rub or in a marinade for meat, poultry, fish and seafood, vegetables and more!

  • To make the dried lime zest: Preheat the oven to 170-180F/75-80C. Zest one lime, lay the zest out on a plate and stick it in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Remove and let it cool completely, then crumble it up finely with your fingers.
    To make the carne asada spice blend, place all of the ingredients in a bowl or jar and stir or shake to combine. 
    Store your homemade carne asada seasoning in an airtight jar in a cool, dark place. It will keep for several months but for optimal flavor use within 3 months.
    Makes about 1/4 cup.
