Crispy-soft edamame are sprinkled with spicy Japanese nanami togarashi seasoning and grilled to smoky perfection.
These perky little soybean pods have been all the rage lately, but this recipe takes them to a new level. There are two things that seriously “up” the rage: 1) Add some Nanami Togarashi and 2) GRILL ’em!
Nanami Togarashi is a delightful Japanese spice blend of dried chilies, orange peel, sesame seeds, Japanese pepper, ginger and seaweed.  You can find it at most Asian grocery stores.  You can also conveniently buy it online here (it’s inexpensive).
My husband and I enjoyed this batch of Spicy Grilled Edamame straight off the grill around 10pm the other night for a late night snack while watching a movie. They’re addictive!
Super quick and easy to make, these make a great snack or side dish. Â This will become your favorite new way to enjoy edamame!

Thank you for this recipe! I used to eat them just cooked in boiled water sprinkled with salt. I hope I can find some Nanani Togarashi, it sounds very nice!!
