“Nowhere else will you find such a passionate group of explorers committed to sharing what the world has to offer.”        — Jason Karas, co-founder and CEO of Trover —

Trover is my new favorite travel app and I want to share with you what it’s all about!

Trover combines the best features of Pinterest and Instagram but is dedicated strictly to travel.   I also think it’s easier to navigate and is by far more useful.  The pictures are taken by travelers who have been to the destinations and are often accompanied by captions providing helpful information, exact addresses of the destinations, and sometimes even links to full articles about the places.  Trover not only provides a world of inspiration but also offers concrete information, Google-style mapping, and useful details to help you plan your trips.

Trover allows you to make your own lists and it’s perfect for creating your own personal travel guides.  For example, you can explore by location and collect photos of places and things to do there, complete with helpful information, links and maps.  And what I always love is finding those hidden little gems that most people don’t know about – secluded scenic beaches, hole-in-the-wall restaurants with great food and other places off the beaten path that are lesser known but enhance your travel experience.  I love good food (obviously) and so I’m also working on creating some lists of great eats in my area and other areas I’ve been or want to go.

If you’re interested in a specific place you can simply type it into the search box and start exploring.  There’s also a handy drop-down menu to let you hone in on specific topics.

To feed your inspiration you can also search by “What’s Hot” and “What’s New”.  You can pull from top destinations that are close to where you live or from across the other side of the globe.

Trover is also about posting your own discoveries to share with the world.  I only just started Trover a couple of weeks ago and am really enjoying it.  It’s like a journal of my travels and allows me to keep track of where I’ve been, my favorite discoveries, and it’s something I can refer to family and friends.

If you love to travel the world, would like to more fully experience your own town or State, or you simply enjoy exploring the world through photos, you need to check out Trover!

And while you’re at it, come Follow Me On Trover!
