Tacoma Autumn 1 smNo recipe today.  Just a leisurely drive through Tacoma’s Old Town and Stadium Districts.  With some exceptionally gorgeous historic homes and other stately buildings, it’s one of my favorite areas of the South Puget Sound.  Here are a few pictures I took while on a drive with my 2 and 4 year old.  Come take a moment to enjoy some fall foliage in this beautiful area of the country.

And please leave a comment below:  What are some of your favorite areas for Autumn landscapes and scenery?

Happy Autumn and Thanksgiving, everyone!

  1. I just discovered your website and can’t wait to try some of your recipes! I was happy to see your gorgeous pictures of my beloved neighborhood and city. A couple of your photos are my neighbors houses and the seminary, now a Waldorf school. Thank you for sharing the beauty of the North End.

  2. Your photos are gorgeous! Takes me back to the time I was stationed at Madigan Army Hospital, Tacoma. I made a point to travel the Pacific Northwest every moment of my free time! Being from Virginia,it was so different. The trees are HUGE!!My favorite place is the Olympic National Park. So beautiful.

    1. Thanks, AJ and YES, the Olympic National Park is absolutely beautiful! Friendly greetings to Virginia – we’re planning a U.S. history-themed family trip there and are really looking forward to it.

  3. The colors and the buildings are just gorgeous! I live in California and we don’t get much in way of fall color – it makes me want to visit these other parts of the country!

  4. Ah, brings back memories! When I was in HS at Steilacoom I did a couple of summer courses on the UPS campus – it is such a beautiful area around there!

  5. Beautiful colors and beautiful old buildings. We’d probably have to drive a minimum of 100 miles to see anything resembling autumn colors. Except for the very occasional cottonwood tree (bright yellow when it turns) we don’t have anything like that here in the desert. So thank you for giving me a dose of good color.

  6. What gorgeous pictures. They do remind me of growing up In Minneapolis with the beautiful fall colors, old stately homes and buildings as well as the water views-only we had lakes not Puget Sound. I miss the Fall there but not enough to move back to the snow! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

  7. I love reading your posts, however the pictures lately are all coming across extra huge and are hard to view on the blog. Just wanted you to know in case you didn’t know :)

    1. Thanks, Sharla, and yikes! Thanks for letting me know! On what kind of device are you viewing my blog?

*Update: I’ve identified the problem and it should be fixed now. It’ll take a little bit to go through my most recent posts and make the changes, but the good news is it shouldn’t happen again :) Thanks again for letting me know, Sharla!
